Artwork Concept

My work has been focused mainly on the use of the photographic technique as a way of approaching thought about photography itself, and the characteristics of the discipline. Starting from my practice as a documentary photographer, I have tried to ask (and answer) questions about photography itself.

In that context, I have built pieces that include photography in a physical way, but also some using other languages. Many of these questions are related to the characteristics that define the technique. One of the lines of work running through my production refers to the construction of space within photography and its relationship with the idea of construction of the space we inhabit. That is to say, conceiving reality as a construction, landscape as a built territory. In short, the work is the possibility of building a parallel reality with its own rules that allows us to think, by superposition, on characteristics of both photography and what we know as reality.

The landscape is a construction, the possibility of working in a territory that begins and ends at the edges of the photograph and is therefore determined at the moment of shooting. Photography is the possibility of transforming materials in all these aspects, the possibility of this new materiality with its own rules.
