国际材料艺术研究是由清华大学美术学院当代艺术研究所和国际艺术家、学者共同发起的学术研究与展览展示平台。此平台以“唯物思维——国际材料艺术双年展”为核心项目与研究起点，为全球材料艺术家和优秀材料艺术作品提供展示交流平台，同时推进关于材料艺术的历史与理论研究，从而促进国际材料艺术的交流与发展。

We would like to introduce a new study at the Tsinghua University, “Material Thinking - International Art Biennale,” as the core project of our program and our research starting point. The exhibition provides the platform for global artists to show art created from a variety of materials. Our new program will promote and further enrich historical and theoretical research about art created by using traditional and contemporary intriguing materials. International artists, sculptors, ceramicists, fiber artists, installations creators, and those following similar pursuits will show together to exchange the development of this new art direction called “Material Art”. Our study will promote their efforts through conferences, symposiums, and publishing art critiques.
